At a conference of Navy League branches, presided over by the Gov-ernor-Genex*al (Lord Galway) .a New Zealand Navy League War Council was set up to co-ordinate the war effort of the branches. The following executive was appointed: Mr G. Reid, Wellington (chairman); Mr S. Ross, Dunedin; Commander C. 11. T. Palmer, Auckland; Major Charles, Canterbury; Mr R. Darroch, smaller branches.
