Fast Game Marred By Obstruction

A fast game, marred by obstruction, resulted in Manaia ladies’ B team beating Bargain Stores by 3 goals to 2.

Halves and forwards were strong right up to half-time, but players tired in the second spell. Mrs Fohe, centre for Manaia, played a good game, but showed a tendency to use her stick too hard. In the back line M. Robinson and P. Ross did good work for Manaia, and in goal J. Ross made an impression. , J. DobSdh, on Bargain Stores’ right wing, was fast, but is inclined to individualistic play; she should not carry the ball so far before passing. R. Collins was another Bargain Stores’ player to shine'in this game, which was fast in the first half. Manaia scorers were P. Telfer (2) and G. Davies (1), Bargain Stores’ goals coming from A. Riddle and L. Dobson. Messrs Oldcorn and Woolford controlled the game.
