Advising that a town-planning scheme involving the Whangarei Borough, Whangarei County and Kamo Town District was being considered, the borough council wrote to the county council at its monthly meeting yesterday stating that it would like to discuss the question with county council representatives. The chairman said the scheme would affect small sections of land around the borough, and he considered the best action in the meantime would be to obtain a report, the council concurring. # # * * Tour to South Island. Details regarding a tour by Northland farmers to the West Coast of the South Island, returning the visit paid by a southern party last year, were placed before the Whangarei County Council at the monthly meeting yesterday by the Railways Department. The trip, which is scheduled to take place in June, would involve a total cost of approximately £23 per person. Farmers and members of public bodies would be eligible. The chairman (Mr J. A. S. Mac Kay) remarked that the tour would be interesting and well worth while.
