English Comedy-Romance At The Plaza

Amusements

Amusing dialogue and piquant situations kept fun at concert pitch throughout the bright .and popular entertainment “Jane Steps Out” which was shown at the Plaza Theatre last night. An Elstree Studios production this is a British-made film that is worth seeing. Diana Churchill, who leads the cast, plays the part of a young lady who “steps out” from unpaid housekeeper to the rest of her selfish family, to play havoc with the affections of her sister’s gentleman friend. There is brilliant comedy to add to a story that is both human and amusing. “Death of a Champion,” the second feature on the programme, is a murder mystery starring Lynne Overman, Virginia Dale and Donald O’Connor. There are thrills and tense moments when murder strikes at a dog show.
