Financial Assistance For Enlisted Teachers
t Per Press Association. Copyright.] WELLINGTON, This Day. The conference of the New Zealand Educational Institute carried a resolution to make provision for the assistance of enlisted teachers and their dependants during the war. The entire profits of the teachers’ group assurance scheme will be used to assist the dependants of institute members serving in the forces either at home or abroad. In the course of the discussion, it was stated that New Zealanders as a whole, and teachers in particular, had a need to realise what they were up against. Others agreed on the need for greater effort, but took exception to the suggestion that teachers were not playing their part.
