Circling Globe On Air Trip
A Sydney businessman recently left by flyingboat on the first stage of a round-the-world trip by regular airline services. He will probably be the first Australian to make it. His bookings on the six different services were made with QantasEmpire Airways, in one of which fiyingboats he will complete the first stage of the trip to Singapore. Thence he will fly to England in a British Airways Corporation flyingboat. After a month in London on business, he will fly to Lisbon and across the Atlantic in a Pan-American Airways Clipper. He will cross the United States continent in a United Airlines Douglas. He hopes that by the time he reaches San Francisco the Pan-American service to New Zealand will have started. At Auckland he will leave the second Clipper in which he will have flown, and board .a Tasman Empire Airways flyingboat for Sydney. His travelling time will be about 20 days, and the air fares £593 9/4.
