Consulting Officer For Northland Farmer
Northland farmers now have the services of a liaison officer, whose special interest it will be to assist in solving their problems. He is Mr R. W. Taylor, of Wellsford, who has been appointed by the Dairy Board to be consulting officer for the arpa. ■ With a free lance commission, his •purpose will be to move about among farmers of all types, giving and receiving advice, the object being to secure first-hand contact between the Department of Agriculture and the farmer. Available to Give Advice Should a farmer require to have a soil" analysis of his property taken, to obtain information regarding manures, control of animal disease, or stock nutrition, Mr Taylor will be available either to give advice or to acquaint the farmer with the proper channels through which the desired information may be obtained. All matters regarding the husbandry and welfare of livestock will come within his compass. Mr Taylor will work in close relationship with the Northland Herd Improvement Association, as much of his work will be based on record keeping, for which the association is the principal medium.
