Northland League In Recess
The Northland Rugby League is to go into recess this season. This decision was reached by a fully attended meeting of delegates held last night after the annual meeting of the League called for last weekend had been adjourned. The whole position was discussed at length last night. It was stated that over 30 per cent, of the senior players were already in camp and more were joining up with the Third Echelon. The general feeling was that the war effort was the primary consideration. . Although junior teams were offering for competition play it was considered wiser., under war conditions, not to proceed with football. The decision applies to this season only and will be reviewed in the light of conditions as they will prevail next year.
