It is officially announced, that His Majesty the King has been pleased to approve of the .further extension, until February, 1941, of the term of office of Colonel the Rt. Hon. Viscount Galway, P.C., G.C.M.G., D. 5.0., 0.8. E., as Gov-ernor-General of New Zealand. Viscount Galway assumed office on April 12, 1935, and was to have left New Zealand on his return home early this year After the outbreak of war it icas announced that his term as Governor-General had been extended for six months.
