200 Negro Dancers Burned
(Received 11 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 25. More than 200 negroes—men and women—were burned to death at Natchez, Missouri, when flames, racing through decorations consisting of dry Spanish moss, trapped them in a frame dancehall with a single floor. The windows were boarded up. The coroner at the inquest said bodies were piled up like a cord of wood. Five negroes have been arrested on suspicion that they started the fire as the result of a drunken quarrel.
