Baconers Sell To £4/9/3 At Kamo
Walter Wakelin reports a successful sale at Kamo on Wednesday when medium entries of cattle and sheep and a large entry of fat pigs met with keen competition from a large bench of buyers. The top price for baconers was £4 9/3 Cattle. —Fat forward bullocks, £lO 12/6 to £11; forward conditioned bullocks, £9 to £9 15/-; fat cows. £6 5/to £6 15/-; light fat cows, £5 5/- to £6; runners, £2 to £2 2/-; coloured store bullocks, £5 3/- to £6; Shorthorn cows and calves, to £6 10/-; heavy boner cows, £3 15/- to £4 2/6; medium boner cows, £3 to £3 12/6; light boner cows. £2 to £2 12/6; boner bulls, £4 10/- to £5 10/-; Jersey heifer calves, £2 to £2 12/6; dairy cows in milk. £4 10/- to £6 10/-; springing Jersey cows. £5 to £7 15/-; springing Shorthorn cows. £6 to £8; Jersey heifers, 2-year, r.w.b., to £4 10/-. Sheep—Forward conditioned shorn lambs, to 15/4; good conditioned ewes, to 11/10; good mouthed ewes, to 12/6; cull ewes, to 7/-; aged rams, to 10/6. Pigs.—Best baconers, to £4 9/3; medium baconers, £3 18/- to £4 5/-; light baconers, £3 10/- to £3 17/6; heavy porkers, £2 15/- to £3 2/6; medium porkers. £2 9/- to £2 14/-; light porkers. £2 to £2 7/6; choppers, £3 10/- to £3 17/6; stores, £1 5/- to £1 10/-; slips, 12/- to 15/-; weaners, 6/- to 8/6; aged boars, 10/- to 30/-.
