After one of the most remarkable salvaging feats performed in Australia, the Union Company’s 2800-ton freighter, which went aground after being damaged by a collision in Sydney Harbour,- has been freed from wreckage and berthed safely. Two divers, at a depth of 16 feet, cut through the thick steel plates for 20 feet with a special under-water oxy-acetylene plant.
