During the day heavy rain showers fell and the night was stormy, with high winds. By 9 a.m. on Sunday, ,68in. of rain were recorded at the meteorological observatory in Nixon Street. Sunday dawned fine with wind at times during the day.. So far as can be ascertained, no damage was caused by the wind in Northland.
