Fighting Services Welfare Appeal Tonight
A public meeting is to be held at the Town Hall at 7.45 this evening to make arrangements for this district’s participation in the national appeal for £IOO,OOO for the welfare of the Dominion’s fighting forces. The appeal, which is being undertaken by the Y.M.C.A. and the Sal-, vation Army, , under the jurisdiction of ] a national committee, has met with a. warm reception in other portions of 1 the Dominion and it is expected that! Whangarei and surrounding districts will be equally enthusiastic. The whole scheme will be explain-! cd fully ’this evening, when the Mayor will preside over the meeting.
