British Farmer Fined For Net Ploughing Land

A N ASHBOURNE FARMER HAS BEEN FINED £25 WITH £lO COSTS FOR FAILING TO PLOUGH UP HIS LAND IN ACCORDANCE WITH INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE COUNTY WAR AGRICULTURE COMMITTEE. The court told the defendant that the committee was empowered to confiscate the farm for cultivation if he continued to disobey the committee’s instructions. .■Many thousands of soldiers stationed in isolated anti-aircraft and other posts throughout the Eastern Command who are subjected to long 1 periods of boredom will be issued with spades in the coming spring with which they can engage their spare time to secure healthy exercise and help in the {‘dig for victory” campaign.
