The Auckland Education Board, •at its meeting yesterday, appointed Mr N. S. Lovegrove headmaster of Russell School. Mr S. Martin, transport officer at the Whangarei railway station, resumed duty this morning after annual leave spent in the Hawke’s Bay district. Mr G. S. Reid, railway district manager, accompanied by Mr K. A. Wallace, business agent, visited Whangarei yesterday and left for the North today. The Governor-General (Viscount Galway), attended by Captain Lord Dormer, A.D.C., will arrive in Auckland early tomorrow morning to attend the welcome to H.M.S. Achilles.
