The Rt. Rev. C. W. West-Watson, formerly Bishop of Christchurch, is seen seated next (on right) to the Most. Rev. A. W. Averill (Auckland), whom he succeeds as Primate and Archbishop of the Province of New Zealand■ On Archbishop Averin’s left is Rt. Rev. G. V. Gerard (Waiapu), selected this week as Chief Chaplain to the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and who will leave with the Third Echelon.
