“Must Not Placate Nazis At Our Expense”
(Received 2 p.m.) LONDON, February 18.
The “Sunday Despatch,” in an editorial, says: “If a Government cannot keep its waters neutral and if it affords shelter to enemy ships of war, Britain must, and will, act in defence of her own rights. “It is a stern, vigorous, but necessary, decision. Neutrals must no longer humour and placate the Nazis at our expense.” The Berlin press rages against Britain and suggests that reprisals will not be long delayed.
