Yesterday Mr. Stan Ellis, of Hamilton, while fishing on the Ruahine Reef, near Whangaroa, landed a mako shark weighing 381 lbs. Mr. Ellis fought the shark, which was in good condition, for over an hour before bringing it alongside his launch, the Reelman. He also saw several striped marlin. Mr. A. Abbott, also of Hamilton, hooked a. striped marlin but lost It after playing it for a short time. The weather is at its best for swordfishing.
