No Combined Thanksgiving Held
No combined thanksgiving Centennial service will be held in Whangarei. The Religious Observances SubCommittee had arranged for such a service on Sunday next, February 16. Archdeacon H. T. Steele said today that meetings of the sub-committee had not been well attended, and that, in view of the comparative failure of other Centennial functions since the outbreak of war. and lack of enthusiasm, he thought it best that nothing be done. Churches were holding special Centennial services in their placer, of worship, and he considered duplication to be unnecessary.
