Oruru-Peria Women’s Institute

A meeting of the Oruru-Peria Women's Institute was held in Mrs Walton’s house on February 7. « The motto for the day was “Look to the sun and the shadow will fall behind.” The president read the show schedule. It was decided not to enter for the show, owing to unforseen circumstances and sickness. It was decided to hold a dance in the near future to get funds for the rest room. In the ccmi'i tition f. i the Led jacket, Mrs Walmsley Tied five points for the seniors and Miss C. McInnes and Miss June Walmsley won five points each for the juniors. In the thrift competition, Mrs Walmsley was the only competitor and therefore received five points. A vote of thanks to Mrs Walton closed the meeting.
