Coming-Of-Age Dance At Onerahi
Mr and Mrs M. Ward gave a dance in the Onerahi Town Hall to celebrate Ihe coming of age of their daughter. Joy. Mrs Ward and Miss Joy Ward received the guests, the former wearing a black chiffon frock with silver coin spots and a fur coat, while the latter wore a white taffeta period gown and fur coat. Mr Ward, in a happy speech, presented his daughter with a large white symbolic key. Miss Ward also thanked all for their gifts and good wishes, also her father and mother for the very enjoyable evening. The birthday cake, made by Mrs Reid, of Whangarei, was lit in a darkened hall.
