W. Thomas Appointed Town Clerk
Mr Walter Thomas has been confirmed in his appointment as Town Clerk at. Hikurangi. This decision was reached by the Town Board after considering applications for the position at its last meeting'. Educated at Tauranga, Mr Thomas was employed on the clerical staff of the Tauranga Dairy Company and the Tauranga Electric Power Board before coming North to take a position in the Hikurangi Dairy Company’s office. There he was held in high regard by administrative officials and suppliers alike. Mr Thomas then became accountant for Stockley and Sons, and, upon the retirement of Mr C. E. O’Callaghan, was appointed Town Clerk in an acting capacity.
