Mines Minister’s Strong Action

[Per Press Association. Copyright ] WELLINGTON, Tins Day. The Minister of Mines (Mr Webb) announced yesterday that if the production of coal is not resumed at the Dobson and Wallsend mines, he will not hesitate to recommend that the Government take over and work the mines under its war emergency powers. A message from Greymouth says that the Dobson Mine, which has been idle since January 24 over the holiday pay dispute, will resume operations tomorrow. The Wallsend Mine, idle since January 22, will also resume at an early date, probably this week.
