Promising Jockey Killed
pSYDNEY, February 11. During the running of the Ingleburn Nursery Handicap at the Warwick Farm races at Randwick yesterday, the apprentice jockey, W. Lappin, aged 18, was thrown from his mount under a bunched field, and received head injuries, from which he died later. Lappin was second on the list of winning jockeys in Sydney last season, three. Time, 1.15 2-5.
