Mails for Kaeo. Kcrikcri. Mangonui, Totara North and Waimate North will in future close at 5.30 p.m. instead of at 1.30 p.m.. the Whangnrei Post Office advises. NEW POSTAL RATES FOR LETTERS BY ORDINARY MEANS: Inland —2d first oz., Id each additional half-oz. British Countries, Egypt, Iraq —2d first half-oz.; Id each additional half-oz. Foreign Countries (except Egypt and Iraq)—-3d first half-oz.; Id each additional half-oz. BY AIR MAIL: Inland —3d each half-oz. Overseas mails close as opportimity offers. OVERSEAS MAILS. A mail for Australian States, and countries via Australia, will close "t the Whangarei Post Office at 2.15 p.m. on Saturday, February 10. Other overseas mails will be despatched .as opportunity offers. CORRESPONDENCE FOR EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. The following postage rates have been fixed upon for correspondence addressed to New Zealand and all 4ther soldiers, sailors and airmen of the British Empire on Active Service: Letters (by surface transport): The inland letter rate (2d for the first oz and Id for each succeeding soz) will apply. By air on Empire air service): 1/6 each £oz (no change). Newspapers: - The British Empire rate (id for each 3oz) will apply. Parcels: Standard charges as under: Parcels not more than 31b in weight, 1/6; parcels not more Milan 71b in weight (maximum), 3/-.
