Mr and Mrs J. A. Cresswell have rej turned to Kerikeri after a prolonged r weekend in Paihia, where they were 7 the guests of Mr H. Jenkins on the Golden Hind. 1 Mr and Mrs F. Kendall have arriv--5 ed in Kerikeri from Katikati. They are staying with their son, Mr James Kendall. Mrs M. McKenzie and her two sons, accompanied by Miss H. Christen, have been spending the weekend in Paihia on the Golden Hind as the guests of Mr H. Jenkins. Mr Clive Cresswell has left for Auckland. Mr Rex Pleasants, of Paihia, spent the weekend in Kerikeri, and was the [ guest of Mr and Mrs H. P. Ritchie. Mr and Mrs Morrison, of Matamata, . have taken up residence in Kerikeri with their family. Mr and Mrs Lindauer and family have taken up residence in Kerikeri. : Mr Lindauer was a well-known personality in Russell, and has made a special study of seaweed. He is to take Miss Rains’ place at the Kerikeri school. Mrs J. Harte has returned to Kerikeri after six weeks’ holiday in Wellington. The community learned with regret that Mrs. Neil has gone to Auckland to attend the funeral of her father. Miss Pam Miller is spending a few days at Otahu as the guest of Mr and Mrs Hyslop.

Obituary. A well-known resident of Kerikeri, Mr Francis William Jones, passed away on Tuesday night at Kawakawa hospital. Mr Jones had been ailing for some considerable time. He was a very keen sportsman, taking a great interest in cricket particularly, and his services will be greatly missed by the local cricket club. He leaves a wife and two sons, to whom the sympathy of the community is extended. Farewell. On Wednesday evening Mr and Mrs J. R. Lyness entertained a large number of friends gt the Cathay Theatre with a picture, followed by a dance. The occasion was the farewelling of their daughter, Miss Jean Lyness, who leaves Wellington for China on February 15. Among those present were:—Mr and Mrs H. Pickmere, Mr and Mrs A.
