Theatres Short Of Costumes
The greatest treasures of the German theatre are being dissipated by the impossibility of obtaining material for staging and dressing new plays. Every theatre has a valuable store of costumes and scenery, built up during
many years of repertory. Now the shortage of matetial is forcing managers to cut up and remodel irreplaceable dresses and settings whenever a new play is produced. “We have never had to do this before." confessed the manager of Berlin's largest theatre.
