Car Making In Australia Strongly Opposed
(Received noon.) SYDNEY, This Day. As a result of strong opposition and a possible political repercussion, the Federal Cabinet, sitting in Sydney, decided to suspend for the present its agreement with Australian Consolidated Industries for the manufacture of motor cars in Australia. The Government will formally submit the plan it had in mind to Parliament, which is expected to reject it. The Country Party is hotly opposed to the idea of car building in Australia.
