Although a large yarding came forward, the fat cattle market at Stovtford Lodge yesterday remained firm, owing to the sound quality of the offering. Fat cattle. —Medium-framed, fairly finished bullocks, £9 17/6 to £11; small light heifers, £6; extra prime well-finished heifers, £9 9/- to £9 17/-; fairly weighty cows, £7 10/- to £8; prime heavy lines, £8 10/- to £9 11/-. Store cattle. —Forward bullocks, £7 10/- to £8 16/-; IC-months steers, £2 17/6; empty cows, light order, £3 12/6 to £4 16/-. Store sheep.—Wether lambs, tops, 16/9 to 19/-; medium pens, 12/- to 14/-: lighter lines, 9/- to 11/-: forward wethers, 20/6; good pens. 18/10 to 19/-; aged fattening ewes. 10/6 to 13/2; four-tooth, 24/9. Fat sheep.—Heavy lambs, 26/-; good pens. 19/- to 22/-; ewes, light, 16/6 to 18/10: heavier, 21/1 to 23/3; wethers, 19/4 to 21/3.
