0.8. E. Holder Gets White Feather

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”l WAIHI, This Day. A white feather has been received by a young Waihi man, toho was the recipient of the 0.8. E. for services rendered at Rabaul, New Guinea, at the time of the eruption in 1938. With the white feather was sent a note, reading: “What a shirker! Our boys are fighting for you. “Do your duty.” Incidentally the recipient bears the. scars of serious spear wounds received at the hands of natives while engaged in mining explorations in the interior of New Guinea.
