British Steamer, 18 Men Feared Lost
(Received 3 p.m.) LONDON, January 30.
It is feared that the British steamer Eston (1487 tons) has been lost in the North Sea.
The 18 men who comprised the crew are missing. The Danish steamer Fredensborg (2094 tons) struck a rfline off the Scottish coast, says a cable from Copenhagen?. The 20 seamen of the crew were lost.
A sea-wall on the east coast of England was breached by a mine early this morning, , The explosion shattered windows over a wide area and awoke the townspeople.
British and French shipowners have chartered 50 small Norwegian ships, mainly for carrying British coal to France.
