Mr P. B. Ross, chairman of directors of the Peters Ice Cream Co., and Mr E. J. Rixon, general manager of the same company, are staying at the Settlers’ Hotel.
A message from London says the health of Lord Redesdale’s daughter, the Hon. Unity Freeman-Mitford, is reported by her doctors to be good. No operation was necessary 'as her wound, which was skilfully treated in Germany, healed in a normal way. A message from Canberra says Mr A. L. Tonnoir, senior research officer of the Council for Scientific Industrial Research, died while camping. He had held several important appointments in New Zealand before joining the council in Australia. He was 54 years of age. To fill the vacancy on the Haungatapere Dairy Company board of directors caused by the resignation of Mr J. W. Tims, on account of ill-health, Messrs. Harold Millington and Frederick Platt have been nominated. Voting papers will be posted to suppliers in the course of the next few days.
