Vandalism At Waitangi

\ Special to ,<f Northern Advocate'] KAIKOHE, This Day.

Vandals have already commenced work on the new carved Maori meetinghouse at Waitangi. Paua shells from the eyes of carved figures at the entrance to the house have been removed, presumably as souvenirs. Fortunately, the vandals did not carve their initials in the building, and it is to be hoped that in the future, both before and after tiic celebrations, people will respect the significance of the building.

A cable from Cairo says that the wife of an Egyptian named Hamada Geheza gave birth to girl quintuplets. All are well.
