No Dargaville Shield Game on Saturday
CRICKET
Whangarei will not be challenging Mangonui for the Dargaville Shield this week-end.
The selector (Mr H. Batten) reported to the management committee last night that it would be impossible to get a team approaching representative strength away.
Regret w.as expressed by the acting chairman, Mr A. Drever, and others, and every effort will be made to fulfill the engagement later in the season. The draw for Saturday’s games will be:
Senior A: Whangarei v. Old BoysNomads, Reclamation No. 2; Onerahi v. Services, Reclamation No. 1. Senior B: Central v. Services, Kensington; Albion v. Kamo B, Reclamation No. 3; Portland v. Old Boys, Portland; Kamo A v. Hikurangi, Kamo; School A v. School B (to be arranged).
