Predicts Roosevelt's Defeat If He Stands Again
(Received 2 p.m.) NEW YORK, January 24. The head of the Committee for Industrial Organisation (Mr John L. Lewis) said that if he stood for a third term, President Roosevelt would be ignominously defeated. He doubted whether President Roosevelt would seek re-election. This statement is interpreted as an attempt to unite Labour against President Roosevelt's New Deal.
