NEW POSTAL RATES FOR LETTERS BY ORDINARY MEANS: Inland—2d first oz., Id each additional half-oz. British Countries, Egypt, Iraq —2d first half-oz.; Id each additional half-oz. Foreign Countries (except Egypt and Iraq)—3d first half-oz.; Id each additional half-oz. BY AIR MAIL: Inland—3d each half-oz. Overseas mails close as opportunity offers.
OVERSEAS MAILS. A mail for Australian States ancl countries, via Australia, will close at the Whangarei Post Office at 5 p.m. on Friday, January 26. Other overseas mails will be despatched as opportunity offers.
CORRESPONDENCE FOR EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. The following postage rates have been fixed upon for correspondence addressed to New Zealand and all other soldiers, sailors and airmen of the British Empire on Active Service: Letters (by surface transport): The inland letter rate (2d for the first oz and Id for each succeeding 4oz) will apply. By air on' Empire air service): 1/6 each loz (no change). Newspapers: The British Empire rate (£d for each 3oz) will apjply. • Parcels: Standard charges as under: .Parcels not more than 31b in weight, 1/6: parcels hot more )than 71b in .weight (maximum), 3/-.
