Express Hits Car, Killing Man
[Per Press Association. — Copyright ] INVERCARGILL, This Day. A retired schoolmaster was killed when the express train due at Invercargill at 1.10 p.m. on Saturday collided with a motor car at the Lindisfarne Road crossing. The victim was Mr William Alexander Diack, 69, of Invercargill. The car which Mr Diack was driving was smashed almost beyond recognition. The express, the engine of which was slightly damaged, was delayed for about 25 minutes.
