Healthy Conditions On Stock Exchange

Healthy conditions ruled on the Auckland Stock Exchange today, with values in the majority of cases firmer, and a predominance of buyers.
Government securities were inquired for in all issues, but there was little scrip offering. A sale of 1946-49 slock showed a rise of 15/-, as compared with the market before the holidays.
Among banks. Nationals of New Zealand were transferred at a reduction of 1/9 on the price a month ago, and were afterwards quoted from £2 1/3 to £2 2/3.
Breweries were strong, New Zealands recording a rise of 1/3, and Dominions being asked for at £1 12/3 for the ordinaries and increases for the other issues.
Sales completed at the noon call today were: South British, £2 9/6; Taranaki Oils Development, 2/1; inscribed stocks, 1954-50, 4 per cent, £99 15/-.
