Hess’s Love-For-Hitler Christmas Broadcast

BERLIN, December 24,

The Reich had a Christmas broadcast, which included a description of a visit paid by Hitler to the Siegfried Line,

Hitler’s deputy (Hess) sent a special message to the nation- from ,a destroyer riding at anchor.

The German Commander-in-Chief (Colon'el-General Von Brauchitsch) spoke from a pill-box in the Siegfried Line. Hess said: “In this hour we send out the strength of our common memories to all Germans abroad who are spending Christmas behind barbed wire in concentration camps, or laboriously fighting their way back to the Fatherland.

“Our thoughts go to our fighters on all fronts, and our gratitude and love to our leader.

“He is surrounded completely by our love, but the more we surround him with our love, the greater is the hatred of others to us. “Germany is prepared to sacrifice, its present for its future. “We greet our Fuehrer as supreme commander and as Germany’s first soldier.

“We can count on God’s help only by fulfilling our duty and keeping our faith.

“Only when victory is security can we talk of peace.”
