’Change: Good Tone For Year’s Last Call
1 Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day.
The last call on the Auckland Stock Exchange for the present year was held this morning, after which brokers’ offices were open till noon. Bidding this morning was quiet, but there was no recession from, the strong tone which has been manifest during the week, most of the recent quotations being repeated. Gas shares seemed a little easier with a market between I'G/G and 17/3. and Wilson’s Cement were firm with buyers at 18/G and no sellers. Government stocks were in demand at late rates.
The Exchange will resume business on Tuesday, January 9.
