Kaitaia Motor Camp Officially Opened
The Kaitaia Motor Camp, in its improved state, was officially opened on Tuesday evening, in the presence of a fair number o| people, including representatives of local bodies. The modern camp, with its large cookhouse, sinks, shower baths, and conveniences, has been made possible by the joint action of the Mangonui A. & P. Association and the Kaitaia Businessmen’s Association. From each of these two bodies throe men were appointed to a committee which was provided with the finance necessary to the work in view. Though the camp is now in every way acceptable to motorists the intention is to extend and improve what has been done. The camp is now under proper supervision, with Mr W. Dyer in charge, and there will be no negligence as in former times in collecting fees. The earnings of the camp will go into a special
fund, and will be used in adding still further to the attractiveness of the camp. At the official opening, Mr W. JHoskin, president of the A. & P. Association, explained how the improvements were brought about, and said thejr had now a camp worthy of the district.

They were ail very grateful to the camp committee and those voluntary workers who had done so much in order that the work could be carried out with the greatest economy.
