KAIKOHE, This Day.

With good fields, a large attendance, and an increased gate, the annual Moerewa sports were an outstanding success. Ideal weather conditions prevailed throughout the day, and competition in all events was very keen. Excellent entries were received for the chopping events, there being 20 starters in the open chop and 14 in the underhand event. Competition in the children’s events was keen, and good entries were received. The Brown Cup, which is presented annually for competition among pi'imary schools in the Bay was won by the Kawakawa School with 32 points, Moerewa being second with 23 points and Horata third with three points.
