Kohukohu
A very well attended meeting of the Kohukohu health campaign committee was held in the town hail. Mr A. A. Potter was in the chair.
It was decided to make the annual appeal on Saturday, December 16. Mesdames R. Fell and H. I. Stoddart are to be asked to. supervise sales again this year.
The number of children who attended the health camp at Auckland last year was 51, and the total cost to the 'committee just over £1 per child. This year the, Auckland Central Council advised that a site for a camp for Northland, children was being procured in the vicinity of Faihia, and its purchase was being finnanccd from the King George V. Memorial Fund. Unfortunately, owing to the war, it would not be ready this year, and ,as the council’s finances were shortened, it would not be possible to hold camps 'for children from the country districts. Operations were to be confined to the city and suburban areas.
Votes of thanks were passed- to Mesdames R. Fell and H. L. Stoddart for their splendid work in connection with ribbon sales last year, and to Mr A. G. Lane for his work as secretary over the past twelve months. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year; Chairman, Mr A. A. Potter (re-eiected); secretary, Mr A. G. Lane (re-elected); committee, Messrs H. L. Stoddart, R. Yarborough, B. O. Heather, W. H. Kirkpatrick, T. C. Bowler, D. P. Jones, ,and Rev. J. H. Cable.
