R.A.F. Security Patrols Over Nazi Minelaying Bases
(Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, December 13, The Air Ministry states that last night security patrols flew over the Island of Sylt, Borkum and Norderney, in order to interrupt the activity of minelaying aircraft. Operations were successfully performed, despite considerable anti-air-craft aggression. It is understood that patrols began a week ago. and have been maintained during the night and at other periods favourable to minelaying from the air. Last night’s pati'ols possibly explain the sudden cessation of broadcasting from the Hamburg and Bremen stations, which faded out in the middle of an English news bulletin at 8.20, and was silent all night.
