After a meeting of the Cabinet yesterday, it was announced that Professor James Shelley had been reappointed Director of Broadcasting.

Mr W. H. Robertshaw, manager of the Wellington branch of the Bank of Australasia, will retire at the end of this week, .after more than 40 years’ service with the bank. He will be succeeded by Mr O. K. Tennent, manager of the Dunedin branch.

The Rev. A. V. Whiting, of the Yoeville Congregational Church, Johannesburg, has accepted a call to the Trinity Congregational Church, Christchurch. Mr Whiting, who was a former minister of the Beresford Street Congregational Church, Auckland, and is well known in . Whangarei, where he was in charge of the Y.M.C.A. some 15 years ago, will probably take up his new duties next March.
