Drawings Completed For New Girls’ High School
Apart from the domestic science room the working drawings for the new girls’ school at the Whangarei High School have boon completed. This information was given the Board of Governors at the monthly mooting last evening by the arehilest (Mr A. V. Morgan). Mr Massey, of Auckland, his collaborator, had gone to Wellington last month to finalise all details relating to the school and hostel, said Mr Morgan. The extra science laboratory and the layout for the domestic science room had been disallowed by the department. and they had been brought back In the original plans both for the. school building and the hostel.
The teachers’ suite in one of the classrooms had also ben disallowed. The- architects had been instructed to put in a fitment comprising sink and bench gas-ring, cupboard, book cupboards and cloak cupboards along one wall of Ihe teachers' room as originally arranged. The department had promised to rend a layout of the domestic room and with this exception Iho working drawings were completed. Work was proceeding on the drawings for the hostel, stall quarters, and laundry buildings, and should bo completed so that tenders could be called before Christmas, to close at the end of January, or the middle of February,
