S.I. Main Trunk Section Opened

[Per Press Association. Copyright .] CHRSTCHURCH. This Day. The Parnassus-Hundalee section of the South Island Main Trunk Railway was brought into commission yesterday. A goods train from Christchurch extended its northward trip for the first time. Although Monday is a quiet day on the line, there were fairly large consignments of freight to the new railhead. The train included nine waggon loads of gods and 15 empty stock waggons in anticipation of requirements this week.
