Stock Exchange Quietens Down
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day.
In contrast to last week’s activity, the market tone has quietened down perceptibly, and only three sales were recorded at the first call today. Bidding, though fairly steady, was not nearly as keen as of late, and any changes were generally in buyer’s favour.
Exceptions were provided in the case of Auckland Gas, with lowest sellers asking 17/-, and Dominion Breweries, which had a market between 33/6 and 34/-. Bank of New Zealand shares were easier, with quotations from 40/'- to 40/3.
There was little change in the market at the noon call, ■ Bank of New Zealands confirming the morning trend with a sale at a drop of 6d. Broken Hill Proprietaries and Wilson's Cements were also slightly easier.
Sales completed at the noon call today were: Bank of New Zealand, £2; E.H.P., ’ ’ £4 4/3; Farmers’ Trading, 18/8; M.K. Manufacturers, 4/3.
TAKE IT WITH YOU Holiday makers and week-enders should be prepared for sudden changes of weather. Be sure and pack a bottle of Baxters Lung Preserver, as a safeguard against chills and colds. “Baxters” will nip a cold in the bud, and prevent holidays from being spoilt. ' Put in a bottle of “Baxters,” sold everywhere.
