Japs. Still Hold Imperial Airways Liner
(Received 2.30 p.m.)
HONGKONG. November 10,
Three passengers of the Imperial Airways air liner Dardanus, which was forced down by Japanese gunfire last week on the occupied island of Waichow. off South China, while en route from Hongkong to French Indochina, declared they were convinced that the Japanese had sought to bring down the plane. The Dardanus was carrying important Colonial Office documents. The passengers praise the pilot. Mr J. N. Wilson, a Queenslander, for his skilful handling of the plane. He dodged the Japanese bullets and made a safe landing. Mr Wilson, also the plane and its mail, are still detained, in spite of British and American protests.
